A hybrid instrument for a vibration test bed with built-in-test capability

A hybrid instrument has been designed, implemented, and integrated into a bearing vibration test bed to provide built-in-test capability for the test bed. The instrument is capable of measuring multiple parameters that are critical indicators of the test bed's operation conditions, such as the temperature of the motor and the test bearing, the shaft speed, and the state of the sensor cables. The test bed provides a platform for the experimental validation of an integrated bearing fault detection and diagnosis technique.
