OFDM-like High Order Backscatter Modulation

Backscatter communication has emerged as a promising technology for green communications and future IoT. This paper studies high order backscatter communication over OFDM carriers. For this purpose, a bank of four band-pass filters has been designed and implemented as well as four 4-QAM backscatter modulators. A prototype of the system is proposed which operate in four different frequencies, 2.39 GHz, 2.46 GHz, 2.57 GHz and 2.67 GHz. Further developments of this system could fulfill the promise of ambient backscatter communications over OFDM carriers in the air.
