Track-to-track fusion for passive coherent location

In order to address the problem of track-to-track fusion in passive coherent location (PCL) system, where the cross-covariance of errors of local estimates is unavailable, an information-theoretic criterion based a fast fault-tolerant generalized convex combination with memory (IT-FFGCCwM) fusion algorithm is proposed. First, an adaptive parameter is constructed based on information-theoretic criterion. Second, the track estimates from the previous fusion center is considered, finding a “halfway” point between the distributions of estimates. Base on this criterion, there is a closed form for weights of IT-FFGCCwM. Finally, the generalized convex combination fusion algorithm is used for the estimation of state. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
