A Theoretical Study on the Implementation of Quantum Dot Cellular Automata

The conventional Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor faces challenges as further scaling down to the nano meter level, makes the device to exhibit Quantum mechanical effects. The technological barrier in the near future, creates space for the invention of novel design paradigms which must operate in higher Computation power and speed. Most of the novel technologies have device sizes in atomic and molecular scales. One such alternative technology is Quantum Dot Cellular Automata. Numerous work has been carried in the area of Design and synthesis of circuits using Quantum Dot cellular Automata. This paper is intended to have a theoretical study on the fabrication and implementation of Quantum Dot cellular Automata.
