The Effect of Phase Change Material (PCM) on Thermal Behavior of a Building Located at Casablanca During Heating Period

In this research, the effect of phase change material (PCM) on thermal behavior of a full scale cell during heating period was investigated. The experiment consists of two identical cavities, the first serves as a reference cell, while the other one incorporated PCM on the internal face of the envelope. The cells are located at the Faculty of sciences Casablanca, Morocco. They are heated with oil radiators. Thermal performance such as the indoor air and parietal temperatures and the flux densities of the two rooms were recorded. The results showed up to 2.52 °C reduction in ambient temperature oscillation and the losses through the ceiling are reduced by 32% in the case of the PCM cavity compared to the reference room.
