CPW-Fed UWB Flexible Antenna for GSM/WLAN/X-Band Applications

A flexible coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed circular microstrip patch monopole antenna is presented in this paper. The designed antenna is resonating at three different frequencies (1.89 GHz, 5.2 GHz, and 8.74 GHz) over a frequency range from 1.33 GHz to 11.11 GHz with an S11 ≤−10 dB impedance bandwidth of 9.8 GHz. The suggested antenna is designed on an FR-4 substrate material having a dielectric constant of 4.4 and a thickness of 0.1 mm with the loss tangent of 0.02. A comparison is made between the proposed antenna and existing antenna available in the literature to show its superiority. Ansys high-frequency structural simulator is used for antenna design and analysis. All the design parameters of the antenna are optimized to resonate at different frequencies suitably for GSM, WLAN, and X-band applications.
