The Impact of the Power Line Conductors Temperature on the Optimal Solution of Generation Distribution in the Power System

The primary factor affecting the inaccuracy of the power system models is the temperature variation of the power line conductors due to weather parameter changes. In the case of short lines, the influence of temperature on the total resistance and reactance of the line may be neglected, but when considering of the long power lines, the outflow of operating and cooling conditions of the conductors becomes noticeable. The article analyzes the impact of taking into account or neglecting the temperature of power line wires in the power system model on the results of optimization of set points for generation sources in the system. The method of adaptation of the power system model is presented, and the differences resulting from the use of static and adaptable models were examined.
