Optimization Design of Electromagnetic Relay Based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

The optimal design of the relay is in ensuring reliable of electromagnetic relay absorbed and released by changing the premise of structural parameters and materials to achieve energy saving purposes and reduce the energy of the collision core, to reduce cost and improve the mechanical and electrical life of the relay of the magnetic holding. In the optimization design of electromagnetic relay, the objective function and the constraint function are highly nonlinear and thus to be a optimization problem to the target. This paper proposed a improved genetic algorithms to optimal design of the control and structure parameters of the electromagnetic relay. In the initial optimization stage, the particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO) was used to obtain the stage optimum solution by its fast convergence ability. The optimal solution obtained by PSO is used as the initial population of genetic algorithm, and then using genetic algorithm of global best search capabilities to get the optimal solution. Taking a certain type of magnetic latching relay as an example to optimize the design. The experimental result shows that the optimized electromagnetic relay has better dynamic characteristics and comprehensive economic indicators.
