Turbo Engine Starting Control Law Design and Process Simulation

Based on the component maps based gas turbine engine starting simulation model, the power extraction method is used to establish the design method of the turbine engine starting control law and build a starter demand power calculation model under different external conditions, which treats fast start as the target, turbine inlet total temperature, fan/compressor surge margin and the main combustion chamber FAR(fuel air ratio) as the constraints, the main combustion chamber fuel supply as the moderator variables. Besides, starting control law design, starter demand power calculation and starting process simulation for the F119 engine are completed. The calculation results show that the starting control law can ensure turbine inlet total temperature, the fan/compressor surge margin and the FAR of the main combustion chamber under the limitation in the starting process of engine. All this study shows that the starting calculation model and design method of the starting control law developed in this paper have practical value in engineering.
