A Game Theoretic-based Approach for Appliances Scheduling with Real-time Co-ordination in Smart Grid

Smart Grid (SG) is a next-generation power grid that implements a two-way communication medium between users and utilities. Demand Side Management (DSM) performs an important role in SG to minimize electricity charges on users side and reduce the stress and cost of electricity generation on the utility side. In smart homes, the Home Energy Management System (HEMS) deployed to enhance the energy utilization of the smart appliances. The objective is to depreciate the customer's electricity bill and tackle real-time users interrupts. The uncertainties associated with user interrupts tackled through coordination among appliances. Coordination among appliances formulated as a game and appliances act as a player. Simulation results validate the proposed approach is better than existing algorithms in reducing cost and PAR.
