A Study on Manipulative Skills of KKTM Sri Gading Student

Manipulative skills are an important skill that technical and vocational students need to master. However, there is a lack of confidence among students when it comes to mastering manipulative skills, resulting in their high dependency towards lecturers. This study is conducted to examine the level of mastery in manipulative skills among the students of Diploma in Building Technology at KKTM Sri Gading during their scientific experiments according to the Ferris and Aziz Psychomotor Domain. The survey method was used to obtain the quantitative data. A total of 94 students participated in this study and were randomly selected using systematic sampling technique. Students took the Thermal Expansion of Solid Bodies Experiment test where the scores indicated that the students' manipulative skills are ranked at stage five which is semi-skilled tool operation. It turns out that the student's level of manipulative skills at KKTM is considered high.
