A Study on Wavelet Based Image Fusion

Image Fusion is a technique to merge information from several images and creates a better quality of image that is clearer and more informative than those previous images. Those images may come from different imaging devices, may have different kind of views or have different kind of intensity. Image Fusion has a lot of aspects like Medical aspects, Scientific aspects, Satellite Imaging, Planetary and Space research etc. A better quality and more informative image help researcher to have better decision making, sort intricate information and also help them to explore various kind of scientific discovery. For fusing image different kind of method has been taken by various authors at different time. Some of them have used wavelet based fusion with different kind of high pass or low pass filter and some of them have used other kind of approach. In this paper we represent fusion methods to get more informative medical image and then select and extract the interested area from that image for the sake of medical diagnosis.
