Solid State Transformer for Electrical System: Challenges and Solution

After the evolution of SST, it plays vital role in the field of modern electrical power system. It has numerous benefits of small volume, weight, size, fault segregation and added some others functions and enhanced power quality such as voltage regulation, reactive power compensation, fault isolation, voltage unbalance, sag and swell. The idea of SST and its topology has been discussed in earlier papers and their main work focused on advancement of its topology, with the advancement of technology and how it can be used for improvement of exiting technology. In this paper discuss about the features of power electronic based solid state transformer and its application in different electrical field, where conventional transformer is replaced by the solid state transformer.
