The Estimation of Radio Direction-Finding Performance in volume Antenna Arrays with Directive Radiators by Music Method

This electronic document is a “live” template and already defines the components of your paper [title, text, heads, etc.]The article considers the problem of application of MUSIC super-resolution direction-finding algorithm to a circular, cubic and spherical antenna array (AA). It is known that the geometry of antenna arrays imposes restrictions on the direction-finding performance. The most important one for the linear configuration is the possibility of only an azimuth estimate. To overcome this problem, flat and convex arrays were considered for tasks which required both azimuth and elevation direction-finding. The effect of the directivity of a single antenna element on the accuracy of determining the angular coordinates of radio emission sources of circular, cubic and spherical antenna arrays consisting of directed radiating elements has been studied. The limits of the directivity change of a singular element, which allow to achieve the maximum accuracy of the estimation of angular coordinates, have been determined. It has been shown that further increase of the directivity leads to the increase of mean square deviation when determining signal coordinates. The estimation of the resolving power of convex or volume antenna arrays depending on the directivity has been carried out. It has been established that the spherical antenna array has the best configuration.
