Development and Evaluation of Interface for Screen Operation for Smooth Practical Training Using ICT in Elementary and Secondary Education

In practical training, which utilizes Information Communication Technology (ICT) in elementary and secondary education, teachers have difficulty in moving to students' seats while having to concentrate on the operation of educational display systems. Consequently, teachers tend to have fewer face-to-face interactions with students during training, making it difficult for them to perceive students' levels of understanding. Moreover, it is difficult to operate a computer screen using both hands to explain the practical training because the conventional interface device is operated using one hand. To solve these problems, we proposed and implemented an interface for screen operation. In addition, we conducted actual practical training utilizing ICT by using the interface for screen operation and evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed interface. From the results of this evaluation, we showed the effectiveness of the proposed interface for screen operation.
