Development of Communication Tools for Informed Consent Using VR Technology

Since prostate cancer patients tend to be elderly, doctors may need more time to explain a consent to them, so that they may understand it and sign it. The most direct way to help facilitate this communication is through visualization, specifically using VR tools to describe visually to the patients their prostate, their medical condition as well as the necessary surgical procedures. Our goal is to provide a visualization technology tool which makes medically-related communication between doctors and patients easy and efficient.
