Analysis of Indoor Channel Propagation Characteristics in Multifloored Building at 2.4 GHz

The indoor propagation model is playing an important role in the design and layout of the indoor wireless networks. In this paper, a statistical approach has been developed to take into account the variability in the different locations of the transmitter to analyze the path loss values through the walls based on the existing multiwall and multifloor model with the Fresnel Transmission Coefficient. The important statistical parameters such as mean, standard deviation and cumulative distribution function of the multifloored building with the operating frequency at 2.4 GHz are investigated by using the experimental path loss through multiple floors and walls of the multifloored building. The mean and standard deviation values are different due to the layout of the corridors and the standard deviation values are also changed. The mean values through two floors are between 111 and 118 and the standard deviation values are between 3 and 5. The mean values through two floors are more than the mean values through one floor and same floor based on the path loss values when the number of the floors between the transmitter and receiver are increased.
