Modelling and Investigation of Multi-Phase Rectifiers Supplied by Resonant Converters

The following paperwork considers modelling and examination of current-driven multi-phase rectifiers supplied by resonant converters. Such multi-phase converters are suitable for electric vehicle battery charging applications. Models of the examined rectifiers are developed in the software environments of MATLAB and LTspice for investigation of the output ripple due to the operation specificity of the supplying resonant converters. As a result, the dependence between the input sources currents variation and the output current ripple is obtained. Moreover, the developed models allow emergency operating modes, such as output short circuit or source failure, to be examined. Furthermore, investigation of parallel operation of such current-driven rectifiers is performed. The obtained results are suitable to support the proper design of the output filter and the overall system control unit.
