A New Approach to Anti-Islanding: Design, Installation and In-Service Experience

Islanding of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is a growing concern as penetration increases. Traditional anti-islanding schemes become less dependable with high levels of penetration. This paper describes a new way to detect and prevent islanding by continuously monitoring the continuity of connection between the utility source and the DER.
