Analysis of Energy Demand for Island Microgrids Based on Spatial-Temporal Dynamics of Moving Energy Storage

Island groups spread over the sea provide important support for the development of the marine economy. Therefore, they need a stable, reliable and inexpensive energy supply system. At present, the energy supply systems for the island groups not connected with the mainland need frequent long-distance oil and gas supplies, which severely restrict the sustainable development of the islands and will bring continuous harm to the environment. The lack of effective interaction between them greatly affects the permeability of renewable energy and the reliability of the whole system. Thus, the concept of electric storage vessel used to realize the interconnection of energy and resources among the islands is put forward, and the design of multi-type electric storage vessels is given. Based on the electric storage vessels, the architecture of island group energy management system (EMS) is proposed. And then, space-time probabilistic models for the travels and energy demands of electricity storage vessels are established based on the trip chain. Finally, the spatial-temporal distribution of energy demand on different islands is simulated and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
