Analysis of INS Parameters and Error Reduction by Integrating GPS and INS Signals

In recent days navigation system has been receiving high demand for several kinds of applications. For autonomous, landing vehicles, navigation system must be accurate to distribute localization point. In the navigation system, Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) are most popular. However these systems suffer from continuity, integration drift and reliability problems. To reduce this problem by performing noise reduction, a novel method has been designed to integrate INS with GPS in a flexible way. The integrated section requires a careful tuning in order to get accurate results. Thus the system can minimize the attitude, velocity and position errors. To verify this technique simulation of loosely coupled INS-GPS integration model is created using matlab. The simulation result confirms the benefit of integrated system in both open and urban areas and suitable for real time implementations and gives improved accuracy in parameters (i.e. Attitude, Velocity and Position) estimation.
