Abstract:
Software systems that support business environments are subject to continuous changes. Implementing a single change might have a propagation effect on the entire software system. Both the impact and cost of software changes must be analyzed before implementing a change. The authors proposed taxonomy-which classifies software changes according to different properties of the change as well as the changed system-makes it possible to predict the complexity of a software change by comparing its parameters with a previous change.
