Polarization conversion with asymmetrical and symmetrical metasurface

In this paper, we establish a generic formula for calculating the circular polarization preservation and conversion rate of metasurfaces based on the Jones matrix method. Specifically, we analyze the polarization state of light reflected from two types of classical metasurfaces: asymmetrical and symmetrical. We also explore the bandwidth of co circular polarization reflectance and the thickness of the dielectric layer. This progress provides useful criteria for designing metasurface-based polarizers.
