The relevance of Freeman Chain Code for copying activities

As there are rapid emergence of digital technology, many children use digital tools such as a tablet, PDA and stylus pen in their learning activities including reading and writing. Pre-writing is one of the activities that used digital tools in learning method and able to facilitate children's fine motor skills development at an early age. Copying activities are one of pre-writing practices that are used to train children to write and improve their fine motor skills as they involve a lot of hands and eyes movements. Nowadays, many researchers conduct their studies on the features and advantages of Freeman Chain Code. Freeman Chain Code is used as a feature extraction in a recognition system. This paper discusses the relevance of Freeman Chain Code as feature extraction technique in correlation to copying activities. In order to find relevant information on Freeman Chain Code, an intensive literature search and review were conducted by reading articles from related previous works. The findings; through the analysis of information from various research papers, concluded that Freeman Chan Code is relevant to feature extraction phase in pre-writing copying activities.
