Search for one-round differential characteristics of lighweight block cipher Cypress-256

This paper presents three approaches to search for one-round differential characteristics with high probability for post quantum lightweight block cipher Cypress-256. The presented methods include the selection of appropriate input differences to the round function based on the properties of modulo addition operation. The proposed optimized method allowed to find differential characteristics for the round function of Cypress-256 with the probability 1/4.
