The development of a computer model of a GPS disciplined oscillator to aid error budget determination

A computer model has been developed to study the performance of a GPS Disciplined Oscillator (GPSDO). The model has been constructed to assist in the determination of GPSDO uncertainty budgets. All major components of a GPSDO are included in the model including the GPS system, the GPSDO's local oscillator and the hardware and software that controls the GPSDO's output. An account is given of the development of the model and assumptions made in its formulation. Illustrations of the model's use are also presented with some interesting preliminary results.
