Compatibility analysis of the 4G/5G systems with DTT in the 700 MHz frequency band

The paper presents study and results of analysis of the co-channel sharing scenarios in the 700 MHz radio frequency band (694-790 MHz) between DTT and 4G/5G systems that may exist in practice in near future, e.g. for Mobile Networks Operators (MNO) in some EU countries bordering with non-EU countries that will continue usage of the 700 MHz band for the terrestrial TV systems (DVB-T/T2). The permissible interfering field strength levels for the co-channel operations (from DTT to MNO and vice versa) and required minimum separation distances for both 4G/5G directions (700 MHz uplink and downlink) have been analysed. The results can be used by Administrations for international coordination with neighbouring non-EU countries as well as for the 5G detailed networks planning in the 700 MHz band in the EU countries areas bordering with non-EU countries with the DTT transmissions.
