Haptics and post stroke rehabilitation of the hand: Immersive gaming using haptics to motivate patients to continue repetitive exercises needed for rehabilitation after stroke

Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) (stroke) ranks amongst the highest causes of morbidity and mortality in Trinidad and Tobago. The cost of rehabilitation could be quite prohibitive resulting in direct relationship between an individual's recovery and his/her financial position. We have designed some low-cost games using a haptic pointing device for rehabilitation. These games make it fun, can be played with family members and reduce the cost and time of recovery.
