Research on compact Q-band 5G RF array

A compact Q band wave RF array for 5G millimeter communication system is reported in this presentation. The array has 16 RF channels and 256 antenna cells. The transmitter and receiver are designed using multi-layered configuration to decrease the module size. The antenna array and feeding structure are designed and integrated in RF module. The size of fabricated RF array is 20cm∗20cm. IF and power supply circuits are also designed separately to support the RF array. Performance of transmitter and receiver array are measured which could be applied in Q-band millimeter wave massive MIMO system.
