A novel terahertz phased array based on coupled oscillators

In this paper, a novel phased array based on coupled oscillators in loop structure for 1D phased array is proposed. By controlling the coupling phase in the oscillators array, initial stable modes are split so that a continuous fixed phase difference from -180° to 180° between adjacent oscillators have been achieved. A complete design methodology is introduced to implement arbitrary desired phase difference in the array. The system is demonstrated in 200GHz and perturbation recovery time is less than 100ns.
