Quantitative assessment of progressive dermatologie manifestations in selected ROI (Region of Interest)

Skin and oral soft tissues are affected by numerous pathological conditions of various etiology. The accurate diagnosis of these pathological conditions influences heavily their appropriate treatment and cure. Clinical identification of intact vesicle and bulla represents a challenge specially in the oral cavity due to the regular irritation. Rupture of these lesions leads to erosions or ulcerations on the surface. This fact makes the diagnosis of vesiculobullous lesions even more difficult because it also includes ulcerative, immunological-mediated diseases, neoplasms and systemic diseases. Therefore, selecting a relevant diagnostic procedure is important not just for dermatologists, but also for general practitioners and dentists. Therefore, an algorithm for the systematized autonomous vesiculobullous lesions detection has been developed as a part of this project, and in general can be used for the diagnostic evaluation of vesiculobullous lesions. The proposed technique allows to assess quantitatively any changes in the process of treatment and response to available medications used to remedy or minimize the symptoms of this disease.
