From aristotle to Teixeira: From rhetoric to online communication

The new technological interfaces have brought facility of access to communication by increasing the storage capacity of news and the speed of informations processing in real time. At the same time, the global interaction, based of exchange of information and knowledge, and the advances of digital technologies, have been promoting transformations in the communicative process of people in society for centuries. In this sense, we present the transitions on the main communication models in the history of humanity, conceived from Greek Aristotle to Luso-Brazilian Marcelo Mendonça Teixeira. A qualitative and empirical descriptive research was developed in World Wide Web from july to december of 2017.
