LOW Complexity MMSE channel estimator for downlink MC-CDMA system

Multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) are very assuring techniques for high speed data transmission over wireless communication channel. Generally, transmitted signals are propagated through different paths and suffer from different path delay and causes ISI and ICI effects. So, it is essential to dynamically estimate the channel frequency response before recovering the useful information. The major problems in conventional MMSE estimator is its computational complexity which arises due to matrix inversion calculation at every instant of input signal data changing. So to overcome this problem a low computation complexity MMSE channel estimation algorithms is proposed for downlink MC-CDMA system. Comparing with conventional MMSE this algorithm has advantages of low computational complexity. The Matlab execution results shows that MC-CDMA with proposed low complexity MMSE channel estimator gives the better performance than conventional MMSE estimator also MC-CDMA outperforms the OFDM systems in Rayleigh fading environment.
