Conditioning of light microscope for advanced methods of ciliary dyskinesia diagnostics

This article discusses about the RGBA (red-green-blue-amber) LEDs brightness control. RGBA LEDs consist of four different colors used to illuminate samples in a microscope. The first part of the article is a brief procedure for designing a hardware part of the illumination of the microscope. In the next part of the article, we describe specifically the used LEDs and drivers that control them. The entire hardware system is built on the Arduino Nano microcontroller. Besides the hardware part of the microscope, the software interface was also solved in the LabVIEW environment. The last part of the article discusses the front panel of the application's graphical interface and its components, as well as the practical application of a light-controlled optical microscope in a medical environment. Optical microscope can be used to measure CBF (ciliary beat frequency) of the cilia of the respiratory apparatus using stroboscopic effect.
