Model-based design approach for implementation of finite state MPC

Rapid controller design and prototyping is vital for the development of power electronics controller. Model-based design is an approach for rapid design and prototyping of controller through recursive analysis of intermediate outputs. This paper presents the model based design approach and it is adopted to implement Finite State Model Predictive Control (FS-MPC) for three phase voltage source inverter (VSI) system. Discrete state space model of the inverter is used for the prediction of states in each sampling time for the implementation of controller. The model-based FS-MPC is developed for three phase VSI system in MATLAB-Simulink and performance is analyzed through simulation results.
