Sequence coupling of inductors in multiphase interleaved bidirectional buck/boost converters

This paper proposes a novel magnetic integration theory and constructs a new kind of high-frequency six-phase interleaved bidirectional DC-DC converters by connecting and coupling the various phase inductors in sequence. It analyzes working modes of converters and external characteristics of inductors, considers transient performance, steady-state performance and efficiency of converters and deduces design criteria for sequence coupling of multiphase inductors on this basis. In addition, it presents the concepts of unit coupled magnetic core and multi-DOF expansion and designs high-frequency six-phase array integrated magnetics. Finally, coupled inductor prototypes and converters with the switching frequency of 1500 kHz are designed for experimental verification.
