A combined 1D and 2D DGTD method for modeling multilayer power-ground planes with narrow slots

In this paper, a combined 1D and 2D Discontinuous Galerkin Time-Domain (DGTD) method is proposed to model multilayer power-ground (PG) planes with narrow slots. The 2D Maxwell's equations for the PG plane pairs are coupled with the Telegrapher's equations for the slots based on the surface equivalence principle. They are solved by 2D DGTD method and 1D DGTD method, respectively. The accuracy of the proposed method is validated against full-wave time-domain commercial software.
