Effect of electron density in multipaction on the electromagnetic characteristics of microwave device

In this paper, a theoretical model is proposed for the evaluation of effect of secondary electron density in multipaction on the electromagnetic characteristics of microwave device. Considering the distribution zone of space electron as a plasma medium, the electromagnetic characteristics of the microwave device are theoretically related to the secondary electron density in multipaction. The coaxial waveguide is simulated using the PIC tool to validate the proposed model. The reflection signal is significantly changed due to the grown of number of electrons, which provides a physical criterion for the multipaction threshold prediction.
