Modelling and simulation of mutually coupled switched reluctance motor to enhance the torque improvement

This paper presents the modeling and simulation of mutually coupled switched reluctance motor (MCMRM) to improve the torque performance. In this chapter it deals with various stages involved in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and the application of FEA for Electromagnetic field (EMF) simulation of a mutually coupled SRM. By changing in rotor dimensions which means punching the triangular holes in rotor poles thereby we can increase the torque performance in MCMRM, when compare with existed SRM. Also, the need for application of FEA for Electromagnetic simulation of SRM was analyzed. Transient analysis also performed in this paper by using MAGNET simulation with comparison of MCSRM with punched triangular holes to the MCSRM without holes in the rotor and static analysis also performed.
