Minimization of error rate for cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks

We devised a pre-handoff spectrum sensing optimization in cognitive radio network. In this, we consider allied spectrum sensing where multiple cognitive radios jointly detect the spectrum holes through optimal voting rule for a fixed value of secondary users in order to observe and investigate the optimality of spectrum sensing and therefore, enhancing the detection performance in an efficient way. This is done by finding out the optimal value of cognitive radios out of the given lot, thereby reducing the total error rate. In this method, incorporated measurement and simulation using MATLAB (R2015a) software were implemented.
