Design of a compact dumbbell shape micro strip patch antenna for UWB applications

A compact Ultra Wideband (UWB) Microstrip antenna consists of a circular patch is designed for the range of 3.1GHz-10.6GHz. The FCC allocate 3.1-10.6 GHz spectrum for the ultra wideband (UWB) radio applications. The design of this antenna is itself an exciting opportunity and hope to stand to all the challenging factors in communications concerned. The ultra wideband radio operating bandwidth that is designed is to be 100% of the centered frequency. The requirements of successful transmission and reception of an ultra wideband signals are, the spectrum that UWB range, the antenna with linear phase, lower dispersion, and less than are equal to two VSWR (VSWR≤2) which ensure minimal values of group delay. For The maximum power radiation throughout the band impedance matching is also required. The aim of this paper is to work out on a small in size antenna for the UWB band spectrum that contain physically compact, planar profile, required impedance, bandwidth, and radiation efficiency. Gain of the antenna is 7.63dB. This is a linearly polarized antenna, used for the ultra wide band radio applications.
