A novel power efficient MAC protocol design for MANETs

MANETs have wide range of popularity in the ad hoc communication systems. The optimized communication strategies are more crucial for these types of networks by considering routing, power management, MAC layer management. In this paper, a novel power efficient MAC scheme is proposed for saving the energy and improving the life time of the network. We considered the ACO optimization technique for optimal path selection and lower the overhead at node level. Delay, throughput and average energy consumption is parameters are considered to improve the efficiency of the network.
