Integration of solar photovoltaic power, battery and DC-DC converter for waste water treatment

In this study, soak liquor generated from leather processing was treated by electro chemical oxidation using battery-integrated solar photovoltaic system (BI-SPV) as power source. The influence of operating parameter such as current density, pH and contact time on Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) removal was studied. The objective of the battery-integrated solar photovoltaic system was to reduce the electrical energy consumption and store the energy in the battery and supply continuously without any interruption for the electro oxidation process. A kinetic model was developed for the treatment of soak liquor using BI-SPV system. The results revealed that the treatment of soaked liquor could be effectively treated at low cost by this eco-friendly BI-SPV system.
