Thermal-hydraulic design and analysis for high power gyro-TWT collector

For the sake of improving the power capability of collector, a helical groove collector is presented in this paper, which has a larger dissipation area than the island- structure collector and straight groove collector. So it is designed and investigated. And the maximum temperature decreases from 264 °С to 99 °С when mass-flow-inlet is 0.5kg/s and the density of spent electron beam is 0.5kW/cm². Meanwhile, the phase change of coolant is also considered that has an ineffaceable influence on the results. The power capability of collector get improved 70%.
