Design of high power average gyro-TWT collector (2) - maximizing the collection area and improving the collection uniformity

When the dissipated power density is determined, the effective collecting area and the collection uniformity must be improved in order to increase the total power capacity of collector. Starting from the electron trajectories, the electron beam distribution function with different initial phases are discussed in this paper. After analyzing the dissipated beam distribution functions in different collector, the collecting density function can be derived. Finally, the effective collecting area and collection uniformity is improved by effectively designing collector profile and the magnetic field distribution.
