Non-invasive wireless EEG monitor

Ambulatory recording of bio-signals has been emerging as a quintessential strategy for manifestation of certain severe paroxysmal diseases in order to prevent it beforehand. In this study, a non-invasive wireless EEG monitor for remote sensing and wireless transmission of EEG to a host PC along with recording the data for further classification has been proposed. It is a single channel system in which signal collected by three scalp electrodes is amplified using AD620 instrumentation amplifier, followed by analog filtering to eliminate artifacts and select the frequency of interest. To fulfill the requirement of A/D conversion and wireless transmission of EEG, two ARDUINO DUE microcontrollers based on Atmel SAM3X8E ARM CORTEX-M3 CPU and a pair of RF module RKI-1197 have been incorporated.
