A novel approach to transmission loss rate calculation for electricity transactions

With the advancement of the electricity market reform, electricity can be traded in various forms. At present, the electricity transactions in China are mainly bilateral transactions and pool transactions. The traditional method on transmission loss calculation only get a total transmission loss rate of a certain line, which is not appropriate for bilateral transactions. It is of great significance to research on how to trace transmission losses caused by different transaction components accurately. Firstly, this paper introduces the current calculation method on transmission loss rate in China. Secondly, Diakoptics is adopted to model bilateral transactions through transforming original mesh network into a tree type network. Then, a novel approach to transmission loss rate calculation that can distinguish between bilateral transaction and pool transaction is proposed. In the end, the reasonableness and effectiveness of the proposed approach is validated by an ieee-14-bus standard system.
