The prospect of wind and solar power development in the Philippines

The Philippines is a country with abundant renewable energy resources but relying on imported fossil fuel in a large quantity, one of the national policies is to encourage and accelerate renewable energy development for realizing self-sufficiency on energy supply. This paper presents, by taking wind and solar power as example, the status quo, policies, challenges and prospect of Philippine renewable energy development for sharing practice and experience in such a developing and emerging country.
