Analysis, test and control of a multiphase linear actuator

A 3d finite element analysis was employed to obtain the flux distribution throughout the volume of the linear motor and to simulate the effect of the driving system prior to its implementation. Different operating conditions were studied. A PWM driver and position control system was also developed Experimental and numerical results concerning static force, air gaps flux. dynamic force and position control are presented and discussed in this work.
