Creation and functional control of metal nanoparticle-polymer interface by laser plasma EUV light excitation

EUV-treated silver alloy nanoparticles on poly-dime thyl-siloxane (PDMS) were characterized by XPS analysis. Narrow scan of XPS spectra of C, Si, Ag and O were detected and found to be shifted, reflecting the interface state of bonding of dissimilar materials. Depth profiles also revealed a new finding of nano-scale alteration inside PDMS. It may contribute to a new functionality of flexible devices on human body attached to interface the devices electronically.
